in Antiques in New York

Beautiful, extremely detailed 19th century steel engraving, titled “A Distant View of the Falls of Niagara,” from the painting by Thomas Cole. Depicts the spectacular Horseshoe Falls section with two Native Americans looking on in the foreground. Particularly prized because it shows the falls in their natural state, surrounded by virgin forest. This engraving is from the historic 1845 edition of John H. Hinton’s “The History and Topography of the United States of North America.” If you’d like to see crisper, clearer photos, just ask. Beautifully framed and matted. Measures 14 1/2″ x 12 1/2″.
